1821 Studios was established in 2011 by producer Terry Dougas.

Born in Vancouver, Terry has a natural appreciation and knowledge of not only the stunning landscapes, but their potential to bring stories to life as well. The production of “Blood” brought him to Winnipeg as it offered stellar locations and the perfect setting for the film. In just a short time, Terry found a new love for the province due to its highly skilled crew members, its permanent tax credit, and exploding film industry.
